I've Moved!
Now the hot topic of today: (NO, not the fact that President Bush has nominated a non-judge to be on the Supreme Court--he really is a dodo head, isn't he?)the hot topic is the fact that I have moved lock, stock, and barrel to Pasadena! Yaaaay!
After a grueling 3-hour move yesterday, I looked at all the boxes in my new living room and said whew, I can't believe I moved everything here! Then, at 4:30 a.m., I went back to the Coldwater place, thinking I would just pick up the rest of my clothes and my books and throw everything else out. I opened my front door and nearly had a heart attack. There is SO MUCH JUNK! Even though I had moved all the big items, it seems the closets just opened up and spewed forth all the junk I had been hiding in them! I am taking another half day off work today to sort through the books and throw out the junk. And I am taking another half day tomorrow off to clean the place. My old landlord is having a total conniption fit because the movers threw all my old furniture in his dumpster. He is threatening to charge me for it. What can I do? He will just have to charge me for it, I guess.
Anyway, as far as knitting goes, I haven't knit anything in awhile, but I have decided to do the holiday boutiques this season. After I get settled, out comes my knitting machines! Also, I am going to knit a throw for my niece's wedding present. And I had better get started on the dress I plan to wear! (it's the pink venetian mixed with a little mohair).
Tee-hee. I have got to go back and change some of the commentary beneath my photos. It seems that my page gets hits because when someone googles "cleavage", a photo of my black v-neck (with me and my boobs in it) appears. What losers. I'll bet they are disappointed when they find out the photo is on a knitting blog and I'll bet they get REALLY DISAPPOINTED when they see the rest of my body! LOL.
Also, I went to a memorial for one of my favorite grad school professors on Saturday, and one of the speakers mentioned my blog tribute to her! He said that if one needed proof as to Dr. R's influence on people, all one had to do is google her and see all 226,000 hits; there was even a mention of her on a knitting blog and he related the story of Dr. R, a Christmas tree, and me. I was so embarrassed! Now I have to take my photo off of this site again, and delete all the rants I've written about my children, just in case someone from my old school should recognize me! A friend who works in the department says that people have e-mailed her, saying that the tribute to my favorite professor was so beautiful and touching (I don't want to mention her name again because it might cause my site to be googled) and they want to know who it wrote it. Can you believe that? Neat, but kind of embarrassing, given that I have said a lot of personal stuff here. I just write on the assumption that nobody except Sonja and that person from Phillips Laboratory in Massachussetts (why don't you ever comment? I would love to know who you are!) reads this. I guess I will go back to being purely knitting, but that will be hard, since this site is my therapy!
