Knutty4Knitting

Musings on machine knitting, the art of knitting, and the mechanics of knitting. Maybe once in awhile I'll talk about my kids, but I'll warn you first, so that you can skip that part.

New Chapter in My Life Begins SOON

I am so excited to be starting this new chapter in my life! I was accepted to a doctoral program at USC. The semester starts on the 21st, and my classes begin on the 23rd of August. I am still trying to figure out a way to pay for it, though my job will pay for 2/3 of the tuition. That is a really good deal, though having to cough up $7K - $8K a year is going to be tough. I just figured, I am planning to stay at my job for at least a few more years, so why don't I get a degree while I am here, especially since the university will pay for most of the costs? Soooo, I am racking my brains to see how I can finance this new degree.

No knitting done recently. I put away my machines to make more room for me to rearrange the furniture and I haven't put them back up yet. I will, I will, now that most of my money is going to be channeled into paying for school. I will not have any time or money to continue the fabulous social life I've been enjoying over the last few months, so I guess I will be knitting again. I'm serious! I have had a great time with my girlfriends going out to dinner, movies, everything. After Robert passed away, all I wanted to do was not be at home thinking about his death. So I went out a lot. Now, sadly, it looks like my party time (such that it is) is going to grind down to a screeching halt as of August 23rd. Oh well, I have my priorities in life, and education and hopefully a higher-paying job are high on the list.
